Full Time / Manitoulin Island
Fisher Wavy is seeking hard-working, self-motivated individuals to join our team as Farm Labourers on Manitoulin Island. This is a full-time Permanent position. If you have a proven track record of safety, reliability, and enjoy outdoor work, we want to hear from you!
Job Duties:
- Build and repair fences and structures, including carpentry work.
- Clear paddocks and tend to livestock, including feeding and moving cattle.
- Maintain farm properties (grass cutting, snow removal).
- Cut, split, and pile firewood.
- Operate heavy equipment for snow removal and material handling.
- Perform pre-operation checks on equipment.
- Assist Great Lakes vessels at the harbor.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Adhere to health and safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Schedule including evenings and weekends as required.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class G driver’s license required.
- Valid Pleasure Craft Operators Card (PCOC) is considered an asset.
- High school diploma or equivalent is an asset.
- Chainsaw safety, operation, and maintenance certification is an asset.
- Experience operating heavy equipment is considered an asset.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor (lifting up to 50 lbs).
- Experience with livestock and farming equipment (mowers, tractors, loaders) is considered an asset.
- Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently.
