Fisher Wavy is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated employee with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Loader Operator at our Vale Operations. This is a full-time year-round position with competitive wages and a benefits package.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a front-end loader.
- Perform mandatory pre and post vehicle inspections.
- Perform daily pre-ops and attend daily safety meetings.
- Identify, report and correct hazards.
- Use a respirator which must be worn in accordance with policies, procedures and Occupational Health and Safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment.
- Perform regular cleaning of motor vehicles and mobile equipment to control dust (inside and outside cab).
- Physical work including lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, crouching, climbing, crawling and reaching repeatedly throughout the workday.
- Shift work including weekends and holidays.
- Constantly monitor vehicle fitness, and ever-changing conditions.
- Maintain accurate electronic hour of service logs and vehicle inspections.
- Team player and display professionalism toward our company and customers.
- Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job Qualifications:
Education:
- Minimum 1 year experience operating a front-end loader.
- Minimum 1 year experience loading highway trucks.
- Surface Miner Common Core is considered an asset.
- Valid certification to operate a front-end loader.
- High school diploma or equivalent is considered an asset.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work on Vale property and successfully complete required training and certification.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Ability to adapt to last-minute changes as dictated by the needs of our customers.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- Must be willing to remove all facial hair (if applicable) for respirator fit test and remain clean shaven when required to wear a respirator.
- Must manage personal and workplace hygiene as work involves interacting with Designated Substances that are prohibited, regulated, restricted, limited or controlled.
